Vol. 240 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Housing.

13.

asked the Minister for Local Government the amount applied for by and the amount allocated to Donegal County Council in respect of housing for the year 1968-69.

The total amount of applications by Donegal County Council in 1968/69 for loans from the Local Loans Fund for housing was £ 413,000. This amount was issued from the Fund. There were no outstanding claims for payment from the Fund to the Council at the end of the year.

In addition, housing subsidy totalling £47,799 was paid, as it fell due in that year, to the local authority.

Do I understand that the amount applied for by the county council was met in full by the Department?

This is somewhat different to what the county manager told us in reply to a question at a recent meeting.

(Interruptions.)

——the Deputy was very vociferous a short time ago.

Is the Minister for Finance asking a question or——

He is asking the Deputy if the Deputy is asking a question.

I want to make the Deputy keep to the rules of order and not be making statements.

Let the Ceann Comhairle decide that.

Question No. 14.

The Minister for Finance, Deputy Haughey, is getting mixed up about what position he is going for. It used to be the Taoiseach but——

What Deputy Harte understands is hardly something that I can answer.

(Interruptions.)

I would rather take the word of the county manager than that of the Minister. Like Deputy Dunne, I know what I would call the Minister.

Will Deputy Harte please control himself?
