The law requires that a summons to attend a meeting of the Dublin City Council, signed by the town clerk, shall be sent to every member of the council at least three clear days before the intended meeting. The removal from office of the members of the city council with effect from 25th April, 1969, precludes the convening of meetings of the council after that date.
Is the Minister aware that a document was issued to the former Aldermen and Councillors of the Dublin City Council from the Labour Party Head Office last week inviting the recipients to participate in the rowdy scenes at the City Hall when they tried to impede the Commissioner from carrying out his duty to strike the rate necessary for the provision of the pay increases to the trade unionists who were entitled to them and in an effort to deprive the citizens of the city of the medical service to which they were entitled and to which the council as a whole——

As I pointed out, a summons to attend a meeting must be signed by the town clerk. I do not think either of these gentlemen is the town clerk.
