Vol. 240 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath School Transport.

19.

asked the Minister for Education if he will arrange for the provision of a primary school bus for the children of Kilmainham, Hurdlestown and Bloomsbury, County Meath to Kells national schools.

The Deputy's question is the first intimation my Department has received that children residing in the districts mentioned by him require free transport to the Kells national schools. The matter will be examined on receipt through the school manager of particulars of the children concerned.

It seems very strange that in a big area such as this, where there is a large number of pupils, something has not been done about it up to now. Would the Minister look into it?

We are in communication with the school manager on the matter.
