Dáil Éireann díospóireacht -
Thursday, 8 May 1969

Vol. 240 No. 6

Irish Representatives to Council of Europe.

I have to inform the Dáil that the following have been selected as Representatives and Substitutes from Ireland to the Twenty-First Ordinary Session of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe. The first part of the Session will commence on the 12th May, 1969.

Representatives—

Deputy Seán MacEntee (Chairman)

Deputy Timothy O'Connor

Deputy Patrick Donegan

Deputy Frank Cluskey.

Substitutes—

Deputy Mark Clinton

Deputy Richie Ryan

Deputy Lorcan Allen

Senator John Brennan

Does the Minister think that it would be safe for them to go? Would anything happen when they are away?

Whatever about Deputy MacEntee and Deputy O'Connor it will be perfectly safe, as far as the country is concerned, for Deputy Donegan and Deputy Cluskey to go and to stay there.

The Minister does not think the Dáil will dissolve in the meantime?

It could mean that the Deputy has a safe seat.
