Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Garda Station.

41.

asked the Minister for Finance the date upon which the Garda station at Blackrock, Cork, was vacated by the gardaí; the use to which the premises has since been put; and if he intends to sell, lease or rent the premises for any purpose.

The Garda station at Blackrock, Cork, was vacated by the gardaí on 19th June, 1962. Efforts were then made to dispose of the State's leasehold interest in the premises but these proved to be unsuccessful.

The station proper was used for storage purposes by the Revenue Commissioners between July, 1964, and January, 1967, and the married quarters was sub-let for use as a private dwellinghouse between November, 1964, and October, 1965. The premises were surrendered to the owner in September, 1967.
