Vol. 240 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Driving Tests.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that when making application for a driving test the applicant will have to provide his own vehicle in classes D and E; and that it is difficult and expensive to get these vehicles; and what steps he proposes to take to rectify the matter.

The onus of providing a vehicle for any driving test is placed on the applicant by the Road Traffic Act, 1961. An applicant has to provide a vehicle of class D or class E only if he is doing a test in either of these classes.
