The research projects for which I have undertaken to provide funds for the Medico-Social Research Board in 1969-70 are:
A hospital in-patient study which will involve the collection and processing of information on hospital in-patients. This study will be a continuing one.
A coronary thrombosis morbidity and mortality study in Dublin. This study is one of a number of similar studies undertaken in different countries at the request of the World Health Organisation.
A community mental health study designed to assess the factors which result in higher admission to mental hospitals in certain areas as against others.
Studies on alcoholism in Ireland, one in Dublin in association with the National Council on Alcoholism and one in the West of Ireland in association with a more general social study which is being undertaken by a research team under American auspices.
