Vol. 242 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers (Resumed). - County Waterford Lands.

87.

asked the Minister for Lands what lands have been acquired in the Cappoquin, Lismore and Tallow areas, County Waterford; how long they have been in the hands of the Land Commission; when they will be allotted; and whether there are negotiations for the acquisition of additional land.

Lands awaiting distribution in the districts mentioned comprise four properties, totalling some 670 acres, which came into the possession of the Land Commission between December, 1964 and May, 1969. It is hoped to allot a substantial part of this acreage in the coming spring.

Proceedings are in progress for compulsory acquisition or voluntary purchase of five other properties, comprising 370 acres, in the districts referred to.

Would the Minister be good enough to indicate the lands that have been acquired and which are likely to be divided soon?

Yes, the Maxwell, Lineen, Lonergan and O'Keefe lands.
