A Cheann Comhairle, with your permission I propose to take Questions 93 to 101 together.
The position is that the National University of Ireland has decided with effect from 1971 not to include certain subjects of the leaving certificate course in the matriculation course. No reason has been given for the exclusion of any of these subjects.
Many of the subjects concerned have been accepted for the purpose of the TCD entrance examination.
I have discussed the matter with representatives of the schools and it has been decided that a joint deputation from the schools and my Department should seek interviews with representatives of the Senate of National University of Ireland and of the Board of Trinity College. I consider, therefore, that I should say nothing further on the matter at present.
