I am informed by the ESB that they do not maintain statistics of unconnected houses. Work under the post development rural electrification scheme is proceeding by rural areas and it is only when the turn of a rural area comes that the board ascertain the number of unconnected houses in that area.
It is not yet possible to say definitely the number of houses in County Monaghan not connected to the electricity supply but it is estimated that the number is between 1,100 and 1,200.
