Vol. 242 No. 9

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Schools.

76.

asked the Minister for Education what steps he proposes to take to correct the position at No. 2 national school, Newtowncunningham, County Donegal, where a present water supply source is being contaminated by discharge from a septic tank.

A number of attempts have been made to obtain a satisfactory water supply for St. Colmcille's national school, Newtowncunningham. I understand that a plentiful supply of water for the toilet system is now available from a new well which has recently been sunk on the school site. This water, however, has proved on analysis to be unfit for drinking, and further investigations are being made with a view to having a supply of drinking water laid on at the school.
