Vol. 242 No. 9

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - Congo Memorial.

112.

andMr. Harte asked the Minister for Defence if any progress has been made in having a suitable monument erected in Glasnevin Cemetery, Dublin, to those soldiers who died on duty in the Congo.

A model of the memorial design proposed for erection at the United Nations plot, and the Army plot which adjoins it, in Glasnevin Cemetery was on display in Leinster House from 5th June to 4th July, 1968. The memorial for the United Nations plot has been completed except for the memorial tablet which has yet to be inscribed and erected. The plot will be finished in greensward at the appropriate time.
