Vol. 243 No. 1

Order of Business.

Business, as set out on the Order Paper, will be taken in the following order: No. 11 (Vote 20) and No. 12.

On the Order of Business, might I inquire why my very important question, which I tabled to the Taoiseach for answer today, has not appeared on the Order Paper?

I conveyed my decision to the Deputy. The matter cannot be discussed in the House. If the Deputy wishes to see me regarding my decision I shall be very glad to see him.

The Chair wrote to me indicating that this was a repetition of an earlier question. I have looked at the earlier question. There was no repetition involved. Just in case those who are concerned with the reply feel that the matter will not be raised, I want to give notice that it will be raised fully on the Taoiseach's Estimate.

Deputies

Hear, hear.

How much did it cost Deputy O'Higgins to come here today?

Ask the practising solicitor beside you.

Deputies

Hear, hear.

The Deputy is getting paid by the taxpayer to come to this House when in fact he is down in the Four Courts——

(Cavan): The Minister would not pay anyone to run his office.

Not even a "maggot".

I do not have a ministerial car to convey my costs to a cost drawer.
