As I stated in reply to a recent question, the authorised strength of the Garda Síochána has for some years been 6,560, and the numbers actually serving do not vary from this except to a negligible extent
Future recruitment will depend upon the occurrence of vacancies and upon the review which I am at present making of the organisation and deployment of the force.
When does the Minister think this review will be completed?
It cannot be effectively completed until I receive the report.
When will the report be available?
I understand it will be around Christmas. That was conveyed to me broadly.
