Vol. 243 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry School Transport.

118.

asked the Minister for Education if the proposals to provide transport for the children attending Kilmurry national school, Cordal, Castleisland, County Kerry, has been examined; and, if so, when the required transport will come into operation.

I am pleased to inform the Deputy that I have approved a transport service to Kilmurry school and that Córas Iompair Éireann have been asked to make arrangements accordingly.

I am glad the Parliamentary Secretary has acted on my representations. I wish to ask him if it is not a fact that I made application for this transport and, when the form was actually filled for the transport to Kilmurry National School, I sent in the application.

I can say that, no matter who intervened beforehand, the Department acted on my question.

I think it should be put on record that Deputy McEllistrim proved very co-operative in assisting at that time in determining the elegibility of the pupils in this area.

This is not the cumann meeting.
