The annual averages of the mid-month percentages of insured persons, including agricultural employees, on the live register were: 6.5 in 1963, 6.2 in 1964, 7.3 in 1967 and 7.4 in 1968. The percentages for the same years for agricultural employees only were 9.6, 9.7, 12.6 and 14.3 respectively. The comparability between the earlier and later periods of both sets of figures, but particularly that for agricultural workers, is affected by the abolition in 1967 of the Second Employment Period Order.
