Vol. 244 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Sewerage.

29.

asked the Minister for Local Government what sewerage treatment is being applied to the Tallaght system which is now being connected to the Dodder River stated to be already contaminated; and if he is satisfied that such connection will not aggravate the contamination problem in the River Dodder.

A comprehensive system of sewage treatment, comprising sedimentation and biological filtration before discharge of the effluent to the Dodder, has been in operation at Tallaght for a number of years. As I stated in reply to Question No. 79 on 5th February, 1970, it is proposed to connect the system to the new Dodder valley sewer in due course.
