asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs who is responsible for the very poor standard of binding in the 1970 telephone directory; if he is aware that some subscribers have received copies of the directory with as many as 50 pages loose; if good copies will be furnished to such subscribers on demand; and if in future the directory will be so bound that it will be intact on delivery and withstand reasonable handling for a year.

The binding of the 1970 telephone directory is considered satisfactory. I am aware that a small number of defective copies were delivered through oversight. Defective copies are replaced free of charge on request.
