Vol. 244 No. 4

Written Answers. - Telephone Installations.

209.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why a subscriber has been informed that he will not be furnished with plugs and sockets to enable a phone to be moved from one room to another until such time as his Department first installs, and has passed by an inspector, an installation in a fixed position; and when his Department will adopt its procedures to subscribers' requirements rather than the convenience of the Department.

210.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs why a subscriber has been informed that he will not be supplied with an ivory coloured telephone on a new line until his Department's inspectors pass as operational a black telephone on the same line.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Question Nos. 209 and 210 together. I am not aware that subscribers have been given the information indicated in the questions, which is incorrect. If the Deputy will supply particulars of the cases he has in mind, I will have further inquiry made and communicate the result to him.
