Vol. 244 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Pedestrian Facilities.

25.

asked the Minister for Local Government if his Department has proposed that a bridge crossing be built at the Rock Road, Williamstown, Booterstown, County Dublin; and if his Department has received costings and plans from Dún Laoghaire Borough Corporation in this matter.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to a question put down by Deputy David Andrews on 28th October last, in which I informed the House that the local authority had been asked to consider the feasibility of providing a footbridge at this location. The local authority has since declared its preference for a pedestrian underpass and I have approved in principle of this decision, subject to my approval to details, including an estimate of cost, which have not yet been prepared by the local authority. The initiative in proceeding with the provision of pedestrian facilities at this location now lies with the local authority.
