Vol. 244 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Regional Hospital.

9.

asked the Minister for health what is the present position regarding the proposed Cork Regional Hospital.

The Cork Hospitals Board is dealing with the planning of this complex and large-scale project. The detailed schedules of accommodation have been settled and I understand that the work preparatory to the preparation of sketch plans is well under way. The board expect that it should be possible to invite tenders by the end of next year. All those concerned are aware of my anxiety that the project should be pressed ahead quickly bearing in mind the need to provide a financially practicable scheme.

Is that the end of 1971?

That is right, yes.
