My inspector is meeting the group committee this week with a view to increasing the number of participants in order to reduce the cost per house to an economic level. At this stage I cannot say when a decision on the proposed scheme will be given.

asked the Minister for Local Government when sanction will be given to the Kilkishen, County Clare water supply scheme.
Having regard to the necessity to conserve available capital for housing and other essential services, only sanitary services schemes of high priority can be allowed to proceed at present. In the circumstances I cannot indicate when approval will issue to the proposed Kilkishen scheme.
Is the Minister aware that it is five years since the Clare County Council sought sanction from the Minister and that this is abnormal? In the circumstances, will he not consider the request of the local authority?
The priority is established by the local authority and is not on a purely chronological basis.
