The total number of parking tickets issued during the year 1969 was 203,118. In the same period, the total amount paid at Garda stations as "fines-on-the-spot" was £125,731. There is an interval between the issue of a ticket and the making of the payment at the garda station. Cases of nonpayment are dealt with by the issue of summonses.
