Vol. 245 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Estates.

71.

asked the Minister for Lands whether whole or part of the Murphy estate, Tenacre, Kilrane. County Wexford, was let to a person (name supplied) in Kilrane for the 1968 season.

72.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the specific date on which the Murphy estate, Tenacre, Kilrane, County Wexford, passed into the possession of the Land Commission.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 71 and 72 together.

Possession of the Murphy estate passed to the Land Commission on 12th December, 1968 and no lettings were made by them for the 1968 season but it is understood that the individual named by the Deputy had a letting from the owner of part of the lands for that season and for some years prior to purchase by the Land Commission.

73.

asked the Minister for Lands when the finalisation of the division of the Goff estate, County Wexford, will take place.

74.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware that the Wexford County Council are interested in securing a portion of the Goff estate, County Wexford, for the purpose of a housing estate; and when they will be facilitated.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 73 and 74 together.

The Land Commission have decided to make available an area of 4¼ acres of this 71 acre property to the Wexford County Council, for housing development and the council have been advised of this today.

Composite resale proposals are envisaged for the balance of the estate and other lands in the locality, aggregating 100 acres. Pending completion of inquiries on the ground, it is not possible to forecast just now when a scheme for division can be completed but I understand that the aim is to include the lands in next year's allocation programme.
