asked the Minister for Education what is the present position regarding commencement of work on the new dental hospital, Cork; and if all plans and ancillary documents have been approved.

asked the Minister for Education if he is in a position to give a definite assurance that the proposed new dental hospital at Wilton, Cork will incorporate the Cork dental school.

I propose, a Cheann Comhairle, with your permission to take Questions Nos. 8 and 9 together.

The present position is that the views in relation to medical and dental education which emanated from the joint university talks are being considered by the Higher Education Authority. Pending the receipt of recommendations from the authority and the full consideration of them. I am not in a position to make a statement on the matters raised in the Deputy's questions.
