Vol. 247 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cashel Water Supply.

98.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position as regards the proposal for a booster station at Springmount, County Tipperary, to augment Cashel water supply.

99.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has any proposals before his Department for the erection of a water booster at Springmount, Golden, County Tipperary, to boost the Cashel supply; and, if so, when he intends to sanction same.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 98 and 99 together.

Proposals for this scheme are being discussed by technical officers of my Department and the local authority.

I hope to convey a decision in the matter shortly.

I would ask the Minister to expedite a decision in this matter. Is he aware that the lack of water in the town of Cashel, particularly in the council houses of the town, is absolutely drastic and highly dangerous at this time?

In view of Deputy Davern's representations I shall make a decision on this matter in the next few days.

(Interruptions.)
