Grants given by my Department for constructional projects relate to harbours and the improvement of bog roads to the small turf-burning electricity generating stations. No savings in relation to these grants are expected in the current year as a result of the cement strike.
The only grant schemes administered by the State bodies under the aegis of my Department in which constructional work is involved are the holiday accommodation and resort development schemes administered by Bord Fáilte Éireann. The board have informed me that they do not anticipate any savings as a result of the strike.
