I am aware that assistance is being sought for a project for an extension of the Joyce exhibit centre at Sandycove in which the Eastern Regional Tourism Organisation are involved and that the cost of the project is estimated at £50,000. I am informed by Bord Fáilte that they are examining the possibility of assisting it at the moment.
Can the Minister state if assistance is given to this project will it affect the amount of money which might be made available to the region for other work?
It will be examined on a separate basis. The project has attracted much interest outside Bord Fáilte.
I am aware of that. The question I am asking is does this endanger in any way the funds which would normally be accruing to the eastern region from Bord Fáilte?
No. Each region will be considered on its merits.
