asked the Minister for Justice the amount of revenue received in the last financial year in respect of road vehicles from parking fines; and the corresponding figures for the present financial year up to 1st December, 1970, or the nearest available date.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parking Fines Revenue.

Most parking fines are fines-on-the-spot. There are also fines for dangerous parking, and other violations of parking bye-laws. In the time available it was not possible to provide the information sought about the latter type of parking fines.
The total amount remitted to my Department in respect of fines-on-the-spot in the year ended 31st March, 1970, was £123,048. As I mentioned in answer to a parliamentary question on 17th November, there are no final figures available for the amount collected in fines-on-the-spot this year, because of the bank strike. The total amount remitted to my Department in the present financial year up to and including the month of November was £52.299.
