With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 39 and 40 together.

There was no Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Social Welfare in 1966, 1967 and 1968. 500 Christmas cards were officially provided for the Minister for Social Welfare in each of those years, at a cost of £7 10s in 1966, £32 in 1967 and £54 10s in 1968. No Christmas cards were officially provided for the Minister for Social Welfare in 1969 or 1970. 400 cards were provided in 1969 for the Parliamentary Secretary at a cost of £33 8s 7d and 250 cards provided in 1970 for the Parliamentary Secretary will cost approximately £20. The cost in all cases includes envelopes and does not include Civil Service time.
