Vol. 250 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Deserted Wife's Allowance.

52.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a person (name supplied) has been refused a separation allowance even though medical evidence (details supplied) was produced to the effect that she was unfit for her particular type of work.

One of the conditions for the receipt of a deserted wife's allowance is that the claimant, if she is less than 50 years of age, has at least one qualified child residing with her. The claimant referred to in the Deputy's question failed to satisfy this condition.
