No cards are being sent in 1970.

Could the Minister explain how it is that these cards are so extraordinarily expensive, because they are extraordinarily expensive?

That is a separate question.

It arises directly from the answer.

They were cards worthy of a Government Minister.

The dearer the card the more the Minister fancies himself.

The day Government Ministers cannot send out a decent card we should, I think, close down this House. I am sick listening to questions about Christmas cards.

And the public are sick of the money being spent of them.

56.

asked the Minister for Labour if in estimating the cost of Christmas cards and greetings he includes (a) envelopes and (b) estimated civil service time.

No cards are being sent this year and the questions will not arise.
