Vol. 253 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Radio and Television Licences.

50.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state in respect of each of the past five years the amount of money paid in counsel's fees in respect of radio and TV licence prosecutions; the total revenue from radio and TV licences over the same period; and if he anticipates any further increase in radio and TV licence fees.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to give the information requested in the first two parts of the question in the form of a tabular statement which will be circulated with the Official Report.

As regards the third part, it is, obviously, necessary to review the level of licence fees from time to time but I have no specific alteration in mind at present.

The information sought regarding counsels' fees and licence revenue is as follows:—
