The cost of renting or the allocating of accommodation is a matter for the body concerned and I have no function in the matter.

The renting of office accommodation and lands by the State sponsored bodies is a matter falling within the responsibility of each of the bodies concerned. Information on the rents payable or on the use made of rented lands is not available in my Department.

An Chomhairle Oiliúna is the only semi-State body under the aegis of my Department which occupies an office block. It is not the practice to disclose the rent paid for a particular office block. The rent paid is inclusive of space for car parking. The car park is used by the occupants of the office block, by members of the various committees involved in industrial training and by members of the public doing business with AnCO.

I have no function in regard to the rents paid for office accommodation and car parts or in regard to arrangements for car parking by the State-sponsored bodies under the aegis of my Department. These are matters of day-to-day administration by the bodies concerned and, while the bodies were set up as instruments of national policy, they must be assured of freedom in day-to-day affairs to enable them to operate efficiently.
