Vol. 258 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rock of Cashel.

71.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Board of Works intend carrying out repairs to the Vicars Choral on Saint Patrick's Rock, County Tipperary; and, if so, to what extent.

The question of carrying out works at the Vicars Choral on Saint Patrick's Rock, Cashel, County Tipperary, to make it fit for use as a reception centre for visitors and to provide display space is under consideration.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary say if he has had representations from the guides on the Rock about this?

In view of Deputy Davern's extensive family connections on the Rock of Cashel could he not arrange this without bothering the Minister?

(Interruptions.)

We think the existing entrance is not entirely satisfactory and we are examining this. We hope to draw up a new scheme in 1972 with a view to carrying out the work in 1973.

Will you be appointing some more guides then?

Have any members of the Davern family gone into the construction business?

(Interruptions).

The Daverns can look after themselves.
