Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 1971. - Instruction to Committee: Motion.

I move:

That it be an instruction to the Committee on the Electoral (Amendment) Bill, 1971, that it has power to make provision in the Bill in relation to—

(a) the issue to electors, including postal voters, at a constitutional referendum in relation to the Third Amendment of the Constitution Bill, 1971, of a polling card that contains a statement relating to the proposal that is the subject of the referendum and giving instructions for marking ballot papers and information regarding inspection and purchase of copies of the Bill,

(b) the expenses of local returning officers in relation to the issue of the cards aforesaid to postal voters,

(c) the display of the statement aforesaid in and in the precincts of all polling stations, and

(d) the giving by presiding officers of specified assistance in voting at such a referendum to blind, incapacitated and illiterate voters.
