Vol. 259 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mineral Royalty Receipts.

45.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the total mineral royalty receipts to the State for the years 1970 and 1971.

Details of the receipts including royalties under the Minerals Development Acts, 1940, and 1960, and the Petroleum and other Minerals Development Act, 1960, are contained in the six monthly reports laid before the Oirechtas in accordance with the requirements of the Acts. The reports for the six months ended 31st December, 1971, have not yet been presented.

For the convenience of the Deputy, however, I may say that total receipts under these Acts, mainly comprised of royalties, amounted to £503,329 for the year ended 31st December, 1970, and to £468,155 for the year ended 31st December, 1971.

There may be some adjustment of these figures when company profits have been finally assessed by the Revenue Commissioners.
