Vol. 268 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - National Folk Museum.

13.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is considering the establishment of a National Folk Museum at Muckross House, Bourn Vincent Memorial Park, Killarney, County Kerry.

The establishment of a national folk museum at Muckross House is not proposed. It is my view that the Bourn Vincent Memorial Park is not a suitable location for such a project.

May I take it that the Parliamentary Secretary and the Government will resist any efforts to establish such a museum?

Mr. Kenny

It is not proposed.

But you will resist it if it is proposed? I read a Kerry journal recently in which a whole page was devoted to a suggestion that this should be done. I should like to know whether the Parliamentary Secretary will resist pressure of this nature?

Mr. Kenny

If he does resist it, will he not be reconciling his views with the views of his predecessor?

All ad idem on that.

Question No. 14.

Well said, too. I wish your Minister could be like you, Parliamentary Secretary.

Mr. Kenny

Some day I may be like him.

Never, I hope. Never become irritable, arrogant——

Let us not indulge in personalities.

(Interruptions.)

Please allow Questions to proceed in an orderly fashion.
