asked the Minister for Lands the appointments made in his Department since 15th March, 1973, other than through the Civil Service Commission; and if he will state in respect of each appointment (1) the name of the person (2) the grade (3) the title of the post (4) the qualifications required (5) the salary and allowances or other payments attaching to the post and (6) the terms of employment.

(Cavan): The reply is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

NOTES: (1) The nightwatchman, fuel carriers and female cleaners were recruited in the normal way through the National Manpower Service, Department of Labour.

(2) The Assistant Solicitor was recruited under Excluding Order of the Civil Service Commissioners whose own competition failed to procure a replacement to fill a vacancy in the Solicitor's Branch of the Land Commission;

(3) The driller was recruited on the recommendation of the local Land Commission Inspector.
