I do not propose to extend the scheme in the way proposed by the Deputy.
Is the Minister aware that during the term of office of the previous Government there were very frequent exhortations to the Minister of the day by members of his party and by Fine Gael Deputies to extend the scheme to the owners of herds of under three cows? I am surprised at the Minister now saying he will not do this.
That shows how consistent the Deputies are because it is a Deputy on this side who has asked the question even though we are in government.
