It is the practice that this Bill go through this House substantially without debate because the items which make it up are available to us for debate under the various Estimates. When this Bill goes to the other House it provides that House with its only opportunity to have a wide ranging debate on the whole economy and therefore the major debate on this Bill will take place in the other House. I propose to follow the tradition of this House and not engage in discussion on this Bill.
I accept that and look forward to a useful debate next week when many misconceptions can be corrected.
