Vol. 275 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal School.

46.

asked the Minister for Education the present position concerning proposals for a new technical school at Buncrana, County Donegal.

Mr. R. Burke

The proposal from the County Donegal Vocational Education Committee for the provision of a new vocational school in Buncrana is being considered in the context of the appropriate future development of secondary education in the area. It is my intention to have discussions resolutely pursued with the authorities concerned with a view to reaching agreement as expeditiously as possible on the pattern of future development. An interim arrangement has been agreed to in regard to the facilities for metalwork classes for the pupils of the vocational school in the present school-year 1974-75.

Is the Minister aware that the vocational education committee are waiting for the next move from the Minister and they have been waiting for a long time?

Mr. R. Burke

Would the Deputy care to enlighten me as to what he considers to be my next move?

The ball is in the Minister's court now.
