As I announced on 10th May, 1974, I have set up a committee to advise me on the introduction at an early date of a comprehensive scheme of legal aid and advice in civil matters. The question of providing free legal aid in the type of case referred to by the Deputy is one which is appropriate for consideration by that committee. I propose to await the committee's report before taking any decisions in regard to the introduction of a civil legal aid scheme.
