The formal agreement for the reciprocal enforcement of maintenance orders between the State and Britain and Northern Ireland is ready for signature and I shall be travelling to London within the next week or so to sign it.
It will then be necessary to arrange for rules of court to be made in the various jurisdictions concerned and to have other administrative arrangements completed before the legislation on both sides can be brought into operation.
It is expected that the scheme for reciprocal enforcement will be in force within a few months.
