The design for this scheme has been approved by both my Department and Galway County Council.
In view of the high amenity value of the area a copy of the design has been referred to the Department of Lands (Forestry and Wildlife Services) for examination. That Department have been asked to confirm their permission already given, in principle, for the use of the Pigeon Hole as the source for the scheme. When such confirmation is received, the group will be advised to seek quotations for the supply of the necessary materials and carrying out of the work in order that firm costings may be determined and the appropriate grants allocated by my Department.
