Vol. 279 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Rent Apportionment.

2.

asked the Minister for Lands when the Land Commission will give full clearance to the transfer, subdivision and apportionment of rent to a person (name supplied) from a person (name supplied) in County Meath.

, Cavan): I am informed that Land Commission consent to the subdivision referred to was issued on 31st December, 1974.

There was a hold-up. The rent was not apportioned correctly. The rent of the land was put on the vested cottage and that is why the question has been put down. Has that been rectified?

(Cavan): I understand that the entire revised annuity was placed on the part being transferred and that apportionment did not arise. The entire annuity was placed on the part being transferred, presumably with consent.

No. I think the Minister has got it wrong. The full rent was put on the cottage and garden and not on the land and that is why the question has come back again.

(Cavan): My information is that the subdivision involved the transfer of 10½ acres and the retention by the vendor of a cottage plot. The consent provides for the charging of the entire revised annuity on the part being transferred, that is, the 10½ acres, and apportionment does not arise.

The solicitor was under the impression that it was the other way around.

(Cavan): I would suggest that the Deputy might have a chat with the solicitor.
