The question of the provision of an improved system of informative road signs, in the light of recommendations made by An Foras Forbartha, is at present being examined in my Department. In the meantime road authorities have been requested by me to take whatever action is necessary to rectify deficiencies in existing signs.
When does the Minister expect to receive this report?
I hope it will be available shortly and that some action can be taken on it before the end of this year or early next year. I agree that signposting throughout the country is pretty bad.
It is appalling.
