Vol. 279 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork House Grants.

48.

asked the Minister for Local Government why two persons (names supplied) in Mallow, County Cork, have not been paid new house grants; and when payments will be made.

Grants of £325 were allocated in respect of these two houses and an instalment of £180 has been paid in each case. A final inspection was requested in August, 1974, by one of the occupiers but I regret that the files were mislaid. The houses have now been inspected and found in order for payment of the balance of £145. Payment will issue shortly. I am sorry but this was a mistake in the Department. Mistakes can occur.

There must have been quite a search when that question was received.

There was and the files would not have been found but for the fact that the question went in.
