It is expected that the next statistical report of the Department will be available by October, 1975.
Does the Minister intend to expand the report from purely statistics to the old format which included statistics and work?
Mr. R. Burke
There are no present plans to change the format of the report. The decision to change it was made in the middle sixties, as the Deputy knows, and no decision has been made to change that.
Was it envisaged at the time the change was made that the report would be made separately and more fully?
Mr. R. Burke
Separately, yes; more fully, I presume so.
Will it be made separately then in the form of the published report?
Mr. R. Burke
The normal form of publication of statistics. It is separate from the annual report which used to be published and is not published any more.
Considering the amount of innovation, the change in curricula and so on, would the Minister consider it wise to have such a report again?
Mr. R. Burke
I am sure it would be very nice to have it but there are no present plans to have one.
