Vol. 281 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork County Council Projects.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will inform Cork County Council of the amount of money he will make available for community projects already commenced with assistance from the amenity grant scheme in previous years and where commitments have been made prior to 1975.

As I have already indicated in reply to previous questions, because of the necessity to make increased provision for priority services such as housing, sanitary services and the phasing out of the cost to rate-payers of the health services and housing subsidies, it is not possible to make any new allocations under the amenity grant scheme in the current year. The amount provided for the scheme in my Department's Vote for 1975 is to enable balances of grants allocated, but not paid, at the end of 1974 to be paid.
